RITA Ora has landed straight at number one with her debut album Ora. The ‘RIP’ singer continued her chart-topping streak by knocking Emeli Sandé into the runner-up’s spot.
However, Sandé’s Our Version of Events has now become the best-selling album of 2012 so far, overtaking Adele’s mammoth-seller 21. Of Monsters and Men’s debut LP My Head is an Animal lands at number three, following the success of single ‘Little Talks’.
Elbow’s B-side compilation Dead in the Boot enters in fourth place. Paloma Faith falls three to five with Fall to Grace. The Black Keys climb one spot to six with El Camino, while Plan B leaps ten places with his soundtrack to iLL Manors at seven. Fun. leap a whopping 27 places to eight with debut album Some Nights. Ed Sheeran drops three to nine with +, and Rihanna slips two to ten with Talk That Talk.
Alanis Morissette’s latest album Havoc and Bright Lights is a new entry at 12, while Noisettes land at 30 with Contact. Foo Fighters re-enter the chart at 18 with their Greatest Hits compilation, following their headlining slot at last weekend’s Reading and Leeds Festivals. X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan lands at 22 with her self-released LP Top Room at the Zoo, despite getting removed from iTunes midweek. Slaughterhouse enter at 33 with Welcome To Our House, followed by Nicola Benedetti’s The Silver Violin at 36 DS
